We are thrilled to once again offer our three-day camp this summer. This camp, staffed by our wonderful volunteers, offers Girl Scouts in Southwest Warrick and surrounding areas the opportunity to enjoy fun, exciting experiences in a safe, girl-friendly environment. We take to heart the Girl Scout processes (Girl Led, Learn by Doing, Cooperative Learning) in planning and conducting our camp.

Who Can Attend?

Girls entering grades 1-8 are welcome to attend as participants. Girls grades 9-12 would be Camp Leaders. Daisies attend 8:30AM-11:30AM Wednesday and Thursday, and 8:30AM-2:30PM Friday. Girls entering 4th grade and up are welcome to attend an optional Friday night sleepover, 7:00PM-9:00AM at Gateway Baptist Church.

Volunteers Needed

Our camp is staffed 100% by volunteers. We welcome Council-approved adults and teens to act as camp staff, older aides, overnight volunteers, tag-along unit volunteers, and more. Potty-trained non-Girl Scout children of adult volunteers can attend camp as tag-alongs (tags) for a nominal daily fee.

Cost

The fee schedule is as follows:

Daisies and Cadettes$20
Brownies and Juniors$40
Optional Overnight (entering 4th grade and up)$15
Tag-alongs$2 per day, per child
Camp T-Shirts*$8 each

* Camp fee for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes includes one free Tshirt

Part of our approach to making camp Girl-Led is that our Cadettes act as aides in the morning, and have their own activities in the afternoon. For this reason, Cadettes' camp fee is reduced compared to that of younger scouts.

Because Daisies attend only a half-day on 2 out of 3 days, their camp fee is also reduced.

Cookie Dough (issued by Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana as part of the Girl Scout cookie sale) can be used for all camp fees.

Registration Deadline

Registration for this year is now closed.

Scouterships

Scouterships are Council-issued financial aid grants. They are approved based on need and are NOT guaranteed. You may be asked to pay additional camp fee if your scoutership is not approved. Financial help (up to 1/2 of the camp fee) is available. Contact your daughter’s troop leader or the Council for the forms. Complete the form and return it to the troop leader or Council before April 12. Scoutership applications must be received in the Council office no later than April 26.

Health & Safety

A nurse or certified First Aider will be on duty at all times. GSUSA Health and Safety Standards will be observed. The Camp First Aider will dispense all medications according to the parent's written directions. Medication MUST be sent in the original container. Use insect repellent/sun screen before coming to camp.

What to Bring/Wear

Dress for the weather: tennis shoes (no sandals), socks, hat or bandana, shorts or jeans, t-shirt (no halters), and long hair tied back. Don't forget rain gear – NO UMBRELLAS! Bring a re-useable water bottle and backpack/tote bag to carry items home. Put your name on everything that is sent to day camp.

Lunches

Bring a lunch with non-perishable food every day. This does not apply to Daisies on Wednesday and Thursday.

Cancellation

If camp is cancelled due to severe weather, it will be announced by 7:30AM on WIKY radio stations 1400 AM and 104.1 FM.

Dismissal Procedures

Your daughter will not be released from camp early or allowed to change transportation without a written notice to the camp director from her parent/guardian.

Please be prompt in picking up your daughter every day at 2:30PM. More thorough dismissal instructions will be given to parents of registered campers near the date of camp.
